7 months & our baby shower

28 weeks aka 7 months and starting my 3rd Trimester Pregnant with twins

The picture above is from Saturday 7/14/12 My Mom made this for my Baby shower. I LOVE LOVE LOVED it :) Its so stinkin cute. She did such a great job.  Last Saturday I hit my 7 month mark with the twins. It was also our baby shower. It was Coed and super awesome! We invited 60 of our closest friends and family and had a Taco bar come out and cater, Wine, Keg and some really nice banquet umbrella tables with center pieces. It looked like it could have been a wedding. Besides being Super hot I had a really good time. The beer and wine looked super refreshing, but the 6+ bottles of water plus watermelon and cantaloupe juice I guzzled down did the trick :)  I'd like to send a big HUGE thank you to Billy's parents and my Mom and Sister for throwing us such a kick ass baby shower. You guys are the best!!!

Here is a Belly shot.  Everyone tells me I look tiny for 7 months with twins, I would have to agree but am not complaining because I feel huge. So far I've only gained 23 pounds.

Below is a picture of what the twins look like right now. Crazy!!! They look like real babies and not little skeleton babies :)

So week 28 has come with a few new changes. The babies are now stronger than EVER! They are constantly awake and constantly kicking. My stomach is constantly moving and changing shapes. I can also feel and start to tell what body parts are kicking, poking and pushing out on my stomach. It's so wild how fast things have changed. The baby email updates that I get say that the babies are now sleeping in 30 minute intervals as to where before they would sleep all day.

One thing that hasn't changed is my lack of sleep. I swear I'm not tired at all and will stay up till 1am every night and wake up at 6:30am every morning. Since I am so big it's getting harder and harder to sleep. I wake up 3-5 times a night in pain. Either from a full bladder or a Charley horse in my leg/legs. This week I was getting them almost every night. They were so bad that they pulled both of my calf muscles. So nuts!

Week 28 has been quite eventful. Not only did we have our baby Shower but 2 day's later we celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary!!!! We saved the top to our wedding cake and couldn't wait to eat it. I was Aighttt........ A little too sweet though, it made me feel totally ill :-P  But it was cool and fun to unwrap the cake and eat it a year later :) This year Has gone by Soooo freakin fast it's blowing my mind. I might as well get all my x-mas shopping done now because I will have no time once the babies arrive.

Behold! Some pictures from our baby shower

This is a picture of Billy's car, mine was equally as full. My good friend Jessica (above to my right) has twins and she mentioned to me that we had to do a diaper raffle. And boy am I glad we did. I can say we easily got over 2,000+ diapers. Which are going to help us out soooo sooo much. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful, amazing, loving friends and family.  Thank you to everyone who came to our shower. :) It was so awesome to see and hang out with everyone.

27 Weeks with 3D/4D Ultrasound Pictures

27 weeks with the Twins

I took this picture below because I thought it was funny that my stomach stuck out so far over the sink while getting ready for bed :)

This week has been really stressful for me. I'm a bit emotional and super stressed with work. I have 2 weeks left before maternity leave and still no temp or replacement. Plus my co-worker is leaving for Hawaii for 2 weeks this Sunday. I need to somehow next week do my job and train a temp to do my job, while holding down the accounting fort during one of our busiest months of the year. With a new billing system that I don't 100% understand. Awesome!

Okay enough of that mess. Sooooo things this week with the babies. Lets see they are getting stronger and bigger. Monday we found Baby B is 2 pounds 5oz and Baby A is 2 pounds 1oz.  I've been in a lot of pain (round ligament pain) all day, everyday for the last week. This Saturday will mark 7 months pregnant, so it seems about right since they are putting on their baby fat :) Baby A is head down and kicks me in the ribs all day, so much to where my ribs are sore and feel bruised. He also must be kicking his brother in the head all day because Baby B is breached and with the recent ultrasounds we've gotten to see that Baby A  has been using Baby B's face as a foot rest. And Baby B is using Baby A's face as a butt rest. So Funny!!!!

My Stomach is getting so big it's been uncomfortable to walk.  I haven't slept well all week and have been so tired at work. I think I'm just mentally drained. There is so much going on in my life all at once and I can't think straight. And to think I haven't seen nothing yet. FanFreakinTastic :)

Check out my Sweet Cankles!!! My calf's and ankles have been quite swollen these days.

Monday I did my Glucose Test and yes the Orange soda drink was gross. How this test works is they take your blood, then you have to drink a water bottle of super sweet orange soda tasting juice. They give you 5 minutes to drink it. You then wait one hour and they take your blood again, then wait another hour and they take your blood once again. I almost threw up 5 times during the first hour of waiting. What they are testing for is gestational diabetes.  Lucky for me the Lab people gave me my own room with a bed, so I didn't have to wait for 2 hours in the waiting room with all the sick people, since they were super busy.

This week we went to the high risk facility to get the babies tested, they get tested every 2 weeks to make sure their are no signs of twin to twin transfusion which is uncommon but can occur in identical twins who share a placenta. So how are appointments go are we arrive and they do a in depth ultrasound of each baby 20-30 minutes a baby.  Once the scans are done a random doctor on staff who is available then looks over the results and comes in to the room and tells you the results. What looks good, what looks bad and what looks abnormal that they want to keep an eye on.  Like for example 2 ultrasounds ago Baby B had an enlarged kidney so they wanted to keep an eye on it. Then during our last ultrasound they found the kidney was back to normal size and posed no threat.

So Monday we get the scans and a Doctor comes in the room to give us the results. I will admit the guy was not as professional as the other doctor's we've worked with (every appointment we meet with a different doctor). So the good news is still no signs of twin to twin transfusion and the babies look fantastic except for one thing. He then tells us that each twin has 1 cementer of extra fluid in their brains. I think OMG WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN!!!  He then explains that it's called Hydrocephalus and that the level of extra fluid that they have in there brains does not pose a threat and would only pose a threat if they gain two more centimeters of fluid in their brains. He then rubbed me the wrong way by saying it's a serious condition but don't worry about it, I mean you should be worried but it's not bad yet so don't worry, while smiling. Ugh! Not at all professional. Have some respect Bro!

So they are going to keep an eye on it and see what it looks like in 2 weeks. Holy Crap! I tried telling myself everything will be fine and not to worry about it and that it's probably very common, but people never even know about it cause there baby's aren't getting the kind of attention our babies are. But as the day went by I began to get more and more upset. Once I got to work I vented to my coworker/best friend Katie broke down crying, she gave me a big hug and I then felt a lot better. I couldn't imagine what I would do if my babies had any problems or serious illnesses or disorders. So that's my sob story and the HUGE reason for my stress this week on top of a dozen other things.

SO ENOUGH WITH THE SAD STUFF AND ON TO SOME AWESOME 3D/4D PICTURES

So if you read my last blog I wrote about how we where going to get the 3D/4D ultrasounds done on Saturday. Billy and I invited all the grandparents to come join us. So we all headed over and packed in to the room for the ultrasound. Dr. Lance scanned each baby for 30 minutes a piece. Baby A was semi cooperating while Baby B did not cooperate at all. I was sooooo sad that we didn't really get any good shots of them so he had me come back and charged me $20 for another 30 min's. So I did and These were the pictures we got :)

Meet Baby A
So the big white blob in front of the half of his face is Baby B's butt :)

Looks like we have a thumb sucker :) So cute!

Meet Baby B
This was trip #2 right off the bat we got a good face shot :)

Then a minute later Baby B put his feet right in front of his face and began playing with his toes. It was sooo cute. Yet I was bummed because after that we couldn't get anymore face shots. Below you can see his profile, his arm is covering his mouth and his leg goes right over his head.

You can see here with the regular ultrasound view that his feet were right in front of his face. I don't know how he's able to bend that way but I totally understand why I've been in so much pain all week. haha.. So cute.

Here are some shots outside of the womb for are 3D/4D Ultrasound.

Crazy how you can see little baby lumps on my tummy.

26 weeks with Twins!

26 Weeks with the Boys

The weeks keep flying by. It really feels like there is not enough hours in a day. This week I had an appointment with my doctor who will be delivering the babies, who I love love love. She said everything seems right on track and the babies look good. Next week I will do my Glucose test in which I've heard all kinds of interesting stories about how the Sugary syrup is going to taste. I heard it may help my sweet tooth in that I may not want sweets for a long time after that. haha..

Things that are new with me this week are that my stomach feels like it can't stretch much further. I have not gotten any stretch marks as of yet. My new product combo I've been using is pure vitamin E oil and Palmers coco/shea butter. Other things would be sleeping has become incredibly hard. I wake up 3-4 times a night in lots of pain. Either leg cramps our Bladder cramps....Well it may not be bladder cramps but if I let my bladder get too full it's the most unbearable pain ever and will wake me up out of a dead sleep. It feels like there's something seriously wrong then I pee and I feel 100% it's really strange. There is just not enough room in my belly.  I have to remind myself every night that I'm okay. Also it's really hard to get comfortable in general. The babies kicks are getting a whole lot stronger. The twin are 14 inches a piece this week.  My feet are in constant pain, mainly my heels because I'm always leaning back on my heels to gain balance because I'm so top heavy. By the end of everyday my feet are throbbing and swollen along with my calf's. Yea so to all my friends you should totally get pregnant it's so glamorous and totally sexy!  Haha...

Other things I started doing recently is I started doing resistant training workouts with the resistant bands. They've really helped me feel better and have been helping my knee pain which is good. This is my make shift home gym. Billy put hooks in the walls (Up high, Middle and down low) for me so I can attach the bands to them and do different kinds of workouts. We actually built this little home gym before we got married and would workout together to get in shape before the wedding, aren't we cute :-P

This picture is from the 4th of July. I bought Billy that shirt for Fathers day. It's so rad! I pretty much melted on the 4th, even though it was only 85 degrees it really scared me to think that if I thought 85 was bad how am I going to handle the rest of the summer and Indian summer. Yikes!

The good news is I have new neighbors AKA my Mom and Sister just moved in next door. I'm super happy to have my Mom back in town. I've missed having her so close. It's going to be such a huge help once I'm on bed rest and once the babies arrive. I'm pretty darn happy to have such an awesome support system. It seems like everything is falling in to place.

And the time is almost here 2 days till our 3D ultrasound!!!! Above is an example of what a 3D/4D ultrasound looks like. This baby is at 27 weeks which is what the twins will be Saturday. I can't wait to see their little features. I was really hoping we would be able to get a 3D picture of both of their faces in the same shot, but unfortunately since one is breach and one is head down we wont be able to.  Hopefully they will cooperate and we will get some great face shots. My next blog will be a recap of our 3D ultrasound, so stay tuned. Goodnight all!!!
